Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult, working in Rivera core Mental Health
Team, based at Chadwell Centre, Torquay road, Paignton, TQ3 2DW.
This
is a permanent post as the previous post holder moved to a different role with
in the trust . Torbay is widely
acclaimed nationally and internationally as one of the most integrated and
effective health and social care community systems. It has a long history of
excellent community based services and has worked innovatively for many years.
It continues to be a regional and national leader in developing new initiatives
and ideas. This is true across the whole health and social care community
services and is certainly no less so in adult peoples' mental health services.
The post exists within
the Rivera team, a well-established multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses,
psychologist, occupational therapists, and community support workers. This CMHT
is based in the Chadwell Centre, an excellent facility on the cliff tops in
Torbay, with a sea view, served by a busy bus route. The post holder will work
alongside another
consultant psychiatrist in the CMHT. The post is currently supported by a specialty
doctor and a trust grade doctor (0.5 WTE of each for each consultant patch). This
post covers the Paignton and Brixham areas in Torbay.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be currently based at the Health and
Wellbeing Clinic, (Chadwell Centre) within the Paignton area, where private
office space with PC accessibility and IT support is available and appropriate
secretarial support will be provided.
You will offer assessment, diagnosis and treatment of
patients as well as other expert clinical services in Paignton and Brixham PCN.
The post holder is expected to be part of S12 rota and on call rota
This is an exciting role for someone who wants to take part
in the development of community mental health services. Apart from the regular
clinical duties, the post holder is expected to take active part in
multidisciplinary team meetings, referrals meetings, governance meetings and contribute
to the development of mental health services in the area . The post has a
dedicated 2.5 SPA time for developing and executing the management and
leadership skills.
