Job summary
We are looking for 3 Assistant Psychologists to join the Devon Adult Autism and ADHD (DAANA) service, to work in the ASC pathway. We are a friendly team, passionate about providing high quality services for those with Autism/ADHD. We provide initial diagnosis and assessment for adults in Devon. ADHD and ASC are separate pathways within the service but work alongside one another with a general focus on neurodiversity.
You do not need to be an expert in ASC, we encourage applicants with a range of appropriate experience and we will support you to learn in the post. There are clinical psychologists, senior mental health practitioners and a senior occupational therapist in the team. We are currently using a hybrid of home and office working.
Your role will have a variety of elements that assist with the assessment and support of autistic people and will include working with family and friends. We run brief workshops for autistic people to support them following a diagnosis and to help friends and family. We have developed psychoeducational material and are committed to developing new and innovative ways of engaging and helping autistic people. Our guiding principle is to improve the lives of autistic people so we often get involved in innovative ideas to support this client group.

Main duties of the job
The principal purpose of the job is to improve the psychological health & wellbeing of people with autism and ADHD and their support network, by helping them identify their strengths and challenges due to their neurodiversity.
The post holder will:
1.Provide a psychological service to DAANA Services in Devon as a key component of integrated mental health and wellbeing services to DPT and to community mental health services.
2.Implement specific assessments, clinical care, psychological interventions, and provide advice and consultancy to clients, family members, carers and professionals under the supervision and management of psychologists and senior metal health practitioners within the service.
3.The post holder will be supported by senior colleagues within DAANA Services. The post holder will be expected to make good use of the expertise of others within the service to further develop their clinical skills with this client group
4.To work independently within a defined managed and occupational context. To work within professional guidelines and DPT procedures and protocols
5.The post holder will receive regular professional and clinical supervision in accordance to Trust policy and to Professional Practice Guidelines set out by the British Psychological Society or appropriate designated Professional Body.
6.The post holders role will be conducted in accordance with a value system of person-centered care, the enhancement of client autonomy, social inclusion and dignity.
