In line with transformation, we are excited to advertise a new full-time Clinical Psychology role (7) in our Cognition
and Learning Pathway.
The Cognition and Learning Service is a
Specialist service consisting of Learning Disability Nurses, Clinical
Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, and Assistant Practitioners who offer services for children and adolescents with a diagnosed Learning
Disability and Autism from assessment and intervention to consultation, liaison
and training for other agencies. The service can support Children &
Adolescents with moderate to profound Learning Disability, in
conjunction with complex behavioral, health or sleep issues related to this
diagnosis.

Main duties of the job
As a
Clinical Psychologist, you will offer high-quality complex assessments
and psychological input to children, young people and their families who access
the support of these pathways. You will bring advanced formulation skills and
consultation to your team alongside wider service development contributions.

There will be CPD opportunities to support your development and a
commitment to supporting your career progression at this stage in relation to
consolidating your supervisory role and leadership skills as well as further
expanding your clinical knowledge and skills.
You will have regular clinical supervision and separate line management.
You will be supported with a job plan with opportunities to use a breadth of
skills including research and service development. There is a strong and
friendly network of Clinical Psychologists working across CFHD, enjoying shared
CPD and professional support. We also have excellent links with local Doctoral
courses for teaching and Trainee placements.

Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD) comprises an Alliance of NHS organisations working together to improve health outcomes for children and young people in Devon.
CFHD provides integrated care and treatment for children and young people across physical and mental health which are provided by Torbay and South Devon Foundation Trust and Devon Partnership Trust. We are working closely with other organisations and providers to ensure we deliver locality and county-wide based integrated access to all of our services, based on the i-Thrive Framework.
CFHD works closely with our local universities of Plymouth, Exeter & the Peninsula Medical School where we support students in clinical training placements and in addition support our own staff to undertake post graduate training.
Our integrated care and treatment has been developed and refined in partnership with children, young people and their families/carers.

You will be a qualified and experienced Clinical Psychologist with a passion
for working with children, young people and families with moderate to profound
learning disabilities. You will have the knowledge and skills to undertake
complex assessments and deliver evidence-based and outcome monitored
psychological therapies. You will have experience in supporting the development
of others through supervision and training and be keen to further develop this.
You will be a reflective practitioner with strengths to bring to a

Information regarding the Cognition
and Learning Pathway
As a Clinical Psychologist, you will be a valuable member of the
multidisciplinary team, contributing to formal assessment and intervention with
children and young people who present with moderate to profound learning
disabilities. The Pathway is county-wide, which enables flexibility regarding
the base alongside the recruitment of other posts, so long as the service needs
are able to be met.
There will be opportunities to apply your experienced clinical skills in
a breadth of work including the administration of complex formal assessment, contributing
to complex and integrated clinical formulations. As a Clinical Psychologist in
the Pathway you would provide supervision to Assistant Psychologists and others as appropriate. There would also be
opportunity to develop your clinical leadership skills, leading others in areas
such as audit, service development, project work and training as appropriate.
The appointed candidate will work jointly with, and provide consultation
to, members of the multidisciplinary team and professionals from other
agencies. The role would include working closely at an inter-agency level as
required, contributing to processes including TAF and EHCP.
