We are recruiting for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner to work in Acute & Urgent Care.
The services include:
- Single Point of Access (SPA) and Mental Health Urgent Care Centre (MHUCC) - to be based at St Albans or Lister Hospital, Stevenage
or
- Mental Health Liaison Team (MHLT) - to be based at Watford General Hospital

The successful candidate will :
- have an MSc in Advanced Practice (or equivalent) with Non-Medical Prescribing qualification.

Main duties of the job
In SPA &MHUCC, the successful candidate will:
- Deliver advanced assessments, triage, and risk management for complex mental health cases.
- Work across SPA to coordinate referrals, screen and triage new service users, and signpost to statutory and non-statutory services.
- Provide rapid assessment and brief interventions within MHUCC to support service users in crisis.
In MHLT, the successful candidate will:
- Deliver timely mental health assessments in the Emergency Department (within 1 hour) and respond to ward referrals swiftly.
- Reduce hospital admissions, re-admissions, and lengths of stay by providing expert liaison and support.
- Support acute hospital staff to increase mental health awareness and confidence.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/TRAINING
Essential
- Professional Registration with either NMC, GPhC or HCPC.
- Evidence of continuing education
- Possession of 1st degree in a clinical field e.g., Nursing, physiotherapy at a minimum 2:2 classification
- MSc in Advanced Practice or equivalent (i.e., registered on Centre of advancing practice directory)
- Non-Medical Prescribing if appropriate to registered profession and scope of practice
- Significant post qualification experience in a relevant clinical field.
