Job summary

University NHS Foundation Trust

Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust provides acute wards for adults of working age, as well as psychiatric intensive care services. The unit offers care and treatment for patients who are experiencing an intense period of mental distress and are very unwell.

Role Requirements

The ideal candidate will be proficient in managing control room duties and will confidently interact with a wide range of individuals, including:

  • Relatives and carer's
  • Professionals from partner agencies
  • Service users
  • Other key stakeholder

Main duties of the job

handing out keys and alarms, phones to all staff starting shifts.

managing visitors and interacting with both ward teams using radios.

checking ID's

logging maintenance/cleaning calls

scanning documents

health, safety and security responsibility.

  • Basic IT skills, good literacy and numeracy

Desirable

  • Educated to Secondary Level with GCSE qualifications or equivalent.
  • Educated to ECDL level or willingness to complete further training.
  • NVQ2 in Business Administration or equivalent experience
  • RSA2 Typing or equivalent experience

Previous Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working a in reception or control room environment that gives knowledge of secretarial or administrative procedures and systems, some of which are non- routine and non-routine activities such as answering queries, progress chasing, task-related problem solving, acquired through experience.

Desirable

  • Clerical experience in a health service setting
