Speech & Language Therapist

The closing date is 11 March 2026

Job summary

An exciting opportunity is available for a passionate and forward-thinking Speech & Language Therapist (SLT) to join the Specialist Learning Disability Service (SLDS) based in Hertfordshire, primarily providing communication assessment and intervention to high priority service users who are presenting with challenging behaviour and / or mental health problems.

The post offers good links with SLT colleagues throughout HPFT services, with regular supervision, opportunities for CPD and training. There is a strong ethos of Continuous Quality Improvement throughout the service and the Trust as a whole, creating possibilities for developing and extending knowledge and skills.

We would welcome applications from motivated SLTs currently working in other areas of the profession, looking to gain experience working with adults with learning disabilities. Training and support will be provided for candidates that might be new to the field of Learning Disabilities.

HPFT is supportive of flexible working and applicants looking for part-time roles are encouraged to apply.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Team Lead, Jess Carter - jessica.carter17@nhs.net
