An exciting opportunity has arisen to join CYPMHS as the ADHD Operational Lead for Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Services, covering South & West Herts.
In this pivotal role, you will provide robust operational leadership for a developing community service, delivering high-quality ADHD diagnostic and treatment pathways for young people across South & West Hertfordshire. Main duties of the job
The post sits within the operational management structure of Childrens and Young Peoples Mental Health Services (CYPMHS) as part of the Specialist Services Directorate which offers operational leadership to staff within community & inpatient services in order to create an effective system that supports the delivery of safe and compliant services and the best possible outcomes for all service users, staff and the public.
The post holder has responsibility for the operational management for CYP ADHD (South & West), a community CYP service providing ADHD diagnostic & treatment to young people up to the age of 18 living in West Hertfordshire.
The post holder is responsible, with the Service Manager, for the allocation, deployment, prioritisation and delivery of services, for implementing and reviewing systems, policies, standards and procedures that ensure the provision of high-quality services within frameworks agreed by the Trust. The post holder will be required to line manage ADHD Non-Medical Prescribers and ADHD Assessors, ensure effective governance & training and that services are operationally optimised for safe, quality and effective care.

Operational Leadership
- Provide operational management for the CYP ADHD (South & West) community service, ensuring effective delivery of diagnostic and treatment pathways.
- Line manage Non-Medical Prescribers and Band 7 Assessors, ensuring governance and operational optimization for safe, quality care.
- Assist the Service Manager in service allocation, deployment, prioritization, and delivery, implementing and reviewing systems, policies, standards, and procedures.
Service Delivery & Improvement
- Support the implementation of care pathways and transformation agendas, ensuring cohesive and seamless services for service users.
- Embed models of recovery and develop new organizational arrangements, networks, and service solutions.
- Ensure the voice of service users and carers is represented in service planning and delivery.
- Maintain relationships with stakeholders, including NHS organizations, local authorities, voluntary organizations, and regulatory bodies.
- Manage service contracts efficiently, focusing on continuous improvement and rapid spread of best practice.
Safe and Effective Services
- Accountable for the quality of care across a complex range of health services, liaising with clinicians, managers, and other providers.
- Monitor and manage team capacity, ensuring effective escalation arrangements to maintain safety.
