This is an exciting time to join the Adult Eating Disorders Service as we continue to expandand develop.
We are looking for a skilled Mental Health or Eating Disorder Nurse to join our Hertfordshire Community Eating Disorders Service as a Community Nurse Practitioner on a 1-year fixed-term maternity cover, working three days per week.
The post will be based in Welwyn Garden City, with clinical responsibilities across thecounty. You will usually have a designated locality to focus your work.
In this role, you will use your interpersonal and therapeutic skills to support service usersin their recovery, with a strong emphasis on physical health monitoring. Working withineating disorders is both highly rewarding and challenging.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience working with people with eating disorders or other mental health conditions.
- Be trained in phlebotomy and ECG procedures.
- Have experience in care coordination and involvement in safeguardingprocesses.
- Carry out comprehensive assessments and provide therapeutic interventions inline with NICE guidance.
- Deliver physical health monitoring for service users, including vital signs such aspulse and blood pressure, and conduct blood tests as required.
- Work collaboratively and effectively within a multi-disciplinary team (MDT).
- Deliver group interventions with colleagues when appropriate.
- Support smooth, well-planned discharges from inpatient, day treatment, andgeneral hospital services by working closely with the MDT, carers, and externalagencies.
- Provide specialist assessment and treatment for individuals with anorexianervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and atypical presentations,involving families where appropriate.
- Have opportunities for further training in specialist therapeutic models such asCBT-E, SSCM, or MANTRA.
- Hold a valid driving licence and have regular access to a car (unless exemptunder the Equality Act 2010).
