Security Lead

Job summary

The post holder will work within a multi-professional team, providing specialist services to adults with a learning disability who may have additional mental health needs and a history of offending behaviour.

The post holder will work under the direction of the Forensic Team Leader and Management Team assume a lead role in the provision of all aspects of physical, procedural and relational security.

The post holder will have responsibilities for developing and maintaining high quality patient care and safe and secure environment within a forensic medium and low secure setting.

Under the direction of the Clinical Team Leader take a lead role in the security risk assessment and management in all aspects of patient interventions.

To actively contribute to the management and development of staff within the clinical setting this includes the identification of training needs and the provision of ongoing supervision to junior staff.

Main duties of the job

To work flexibly within all clinical areas, undertaking delegated managerial responsibilities.

To ensure security and safety arrangements are robust across the Warren Court and are in line with policy and procedure.

To maintain an effective communication system across the clinic ensuring staff awareness of local and national policies and procedures and guidance.

The post holder is required to ensure that the maintenance and monitoring procedures are implemented for the physical security components of the service.

To contribute to the development, review and dissemination of security procedures.

To co-ordinate and chair, regular security meetings.

To participate in regular staff meetings.

To maintain as appropriate, management recording systems to include staff records and administration of statutory data within Trust requirements.

To ensure the safe custody of Service User's money and property.

To provide specialist knowledge within a forensic service, acting as a role model for all staff within the unit. In conjunction with the Multi-Disciplinary Team to participate in the Warren Court Induction procedure for all new staff arriving within the service.

To plan, deliver and evaluate Mandatory Security Training for all staff
