The Acorn Day Unit and Intensive Community Support Team are two small, friendly and supportive teams working in Hertfordshire community eating disorder service, and we are looking for an organised, proactive and approachable Band 4 Administrator, on a 6 month fixed term temporary contract, to help ensure smooth service delivery. You'll be a key part of the team, helping with the day to day admin, supporting our clinicians and making sure everything is in place so we can give the best care to our service users and carers. Main duties of the job

We are looking for a warm, approachable individual to support with the daily running of the Acorn Day Unit and Intensive Community Support team. You will lead in the provision of comprehensive, professional, effective secretarial and administrative services to the team. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are essential and previous secretarial experience is desirable. The successful candidate will need to have excellent IT and organisational skills and have a good knowledge and understanding of Microsoft office packages, information systems, and data quality processes. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a face-paced environment, can manage multiple tasks, and be able to stay calm under pressure. You will be required to work independently, using initiative, applying high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality to all their work and maintain a calm, friendly and efficient manner when dealing with service users, relative, colleagues and visitors. The post is managed rather than supervised.

  • A good standard of education to at least secondary level
  • Advanced I.T Skills
  • RSA II/III or equivalent experience/ knowledge
  • Significant administration/ office experience

Desirable

  • Formal admin qualifications

AREAS OF EXPERTISE AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft office applications
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own workload
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology
  • Proficient in diary management and knowledge of office systems and processes
  • Ability to record and transcribe minutes
  • Ability to maintain both computerised and paper filing systems
  • Understanding of data protection and the need for confidentiality and how to maintain this
