We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking pharmacist to lead the development of Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (ePMA) systems and digital medicines solutions across the Trust. This is a strategic leadership role and you will work closely with clinical, digital, and operational teams to ensure safe, effective, and innovative use of digital systems to deliver our Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation strategy and so support the delivery of high-quality care across our services.
Main duties of the job
This role, as part of the Pharmacy Management Group is key to delivering the Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation Strategy through continual analogue to digital enablement.
The postholder will lead and develop ePMA and support elements of the Trusts ePMA and Electronic Patients Record (EPR) system relating to prescribing and medicines usage. You will work closely with the Pharmacy Department, IT department, EPR team, professional and Divisional teams as well as other Trusts using the same ePMA system. The postholder will be an expert in their field and will be expected to make decisions about situations which may involve several complicated or highly complex components.
o Lead the Trust-wide development of the ePMA system.o Provide expert pharmaceutical input into digital systems and medicines workflows.o Collaborate with IT, EPR, and clinical teams to ensure safe and effective integration.o Develop and ensure delivery of training programs for multidisciplinary staff.o Ensure governance, compliance, and business continuity for digital medicines systems.o Contribute to research, audits, and national ePMA networks.o Line manage pharmacy staff and support workforce development.
