Job summary
CYPMHS (Children and Young People Mental Health Services) Crisis Team are looking to recruit an inspirational Team Leader who is highly skilled, motivated Practitioner with the appropriate professional qualification and experience to work in the multi-disciplinary Team. The post is offered on as a full-time 37.5 hours permanent basis.
The C-CATT Team Leader is required to work across the 2 acute hospital sites in Watford and Stevenage, and also support the C-CATT community site in Radlett.
We are looking to appoint an experienced clinician who has the ability to provide strong leadership, in conjunction with other members of the management team, to contribute to the development and implementation of a high quality service to meet the needs of children and young people in acute phases of mental illness, and their carers.
Main duties of the job
This post-holder will work under the supervision of the Community CAMHS Manager (CCM) for C-CATT. The post holder will act in support of the CCM, deputising and carrying out delegated roles, duties and responsibilities as required.
You will be part of the C-CATT Leadership Team and have the opportunity to influence Team and Service development. You are expected have a good understanding of Key Performance Indicators and managing throughput.
You will be expected to support and lead in the clinical work ; duty and shift leading over-seeing the crisis care of young people presenting in mental health crisis.
To work in ways which are sensitive to and appropriate for the needs of families from a wide range of racial, cultural and religious backgrounds. This includes abilities to understand and offer therapeutic interventions to a variety of family forms including single parents, same sex couples and their families, extended families, foster carers and people with mental health difficulties.

S/he will deputise for the Operational Manager when required.
The post-holder will work within professional guidelines and under the clinical/professional supervision of senior clinicians of own and other professions.
The post holder will support the clinical development of team members to provide services that are accessible and responsive to needs.
To promote participation of service users and carers in their own care and in the planning and development of services.
The post holder will contribute to research, audit and evaluation for service development.
The post-holder will provide clinical/professional supervision to trainees on placement, more junior staff of the same discipline and multi-disciplinary colleagues for purposes of training and continuing professional development.
To take clinical and line management responsibility for clinical staff ensuring they deliver a high quality, young person focused service.
Work in partnership with Local Authority Colleagues - attending strategic multi-agency LA meeting, complex needs panels.
