Job summary

The Clinical Community Matron for the West ACMHS is a senior nursing leader who provides expert clinical and professional guidance across designated community services. Reporting to the Head of Nursing the Matron plays a pivotal role in driving the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care through strong clinical leadership, high visibility, and direct support to nursing teams and multidisciplinary colleagues. As the professional and quality lead for nursing within their specialist area, the Matron ensures that care is consistently delivered to the highest standard, in alignment with Trust values and national guidelines. This includes maintaining a safe and clean environment, promoting infection prevention and control best practices, and ensuring that service users are treated with dignity, respect, and cultural sensitivity. Working closely with clinical nurse specialists, team leaders, service managers, and the wider senior leadership team, the Matron promotes excellence in clinical care and fosters a culture of accountability, inclusivity, and continuous improvement. The Matron is instrumental in identifying and addressing gaps in care and service delivery, leading on initiatives that enhance patient outcomes, experience, and confidence in community services.
