Job summary

This unique role in Watford will combine your skills as a both a Duty & with a caseload of adults from 18 upwards, based in the supportive & friendly Watford Adult Community Mental Health Service.

We seek a registered Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist to come on board!

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will:

  • be responsible for the clinical and operational day to day service delivery
  • be responsible for the clinical and operational supervision of junior staff and students
  • be accountable for delivering a quality service that is effective and efficient
  • contribute to strategic service development working collaboratively with other agencies.

Job responsibilities

  • To undertake comprehensive health needs and risk assessments(including capacity assessments) and develop a care plan (Health Action Plan) in accordance with identified needs establishing specialist course of responsibilities/actions based on Recovery Principles.
  • To carry out joint assessment with other MDT as required
  • To be aware of and comply with the relevant mental health and work related legislation and policy at all times.
  • To maintain patient safety, in collaboration with patients, carers and other team members
  • Be responsible for recognising the potential for or signs of patient harm, abuse or neglect and taking all reasonable steps to protect the patient.
  • Provides clinical advice on complex issues to other members of the clinical team and staff from other disciplines.
  • Undertakes urgent and priority assessments with risk assessments
  • To liaise with other services eg: Police; A & E as required
  • To provide relevant up to date evidence based information about treatment/intervention that enables service users to make informed choices about their care.

  • To undertake health promotion activities with individuals and groups.
