Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of implementing Trauma Informed Approach to our Adult Mental Health In-patient Rehabilitation Service, as well as to develop the psychological assessment, formulation and therapy elements for the service users and enhance the psychological awareness of the teams as a whole. Opportunities for clinical supervision, and line management are also available within this post.

Main duties of the job

Psychological therapies undertake an integral role supporting the wider multi-disciplinary teams (MDT's) and are highly regarded within the Trust. The post holder will play an important role in the day to day running of adult in-patient mental health rehabilitation unit provisions, providing supervision to assistant and trainee psychologist, overseeing referrals and providing support to MDT colleagues.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/TRAINING

Essential

  • Post-graduate doctorate in clinical/counselling psychology/CBT
  • Post-qualification training in assessment and intervention models in one or more of the following: CBT, DBT, Systemic Therapy, Family Interventions.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • At least two years' experience working as a qualified practitioner with clients with severe mental illness within a mental health setting.
  • Experience of working within rehabilitation or acute services.
  • Experience of supervising Trainee/assistant psychologist
  • Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across full range of care settings the
  • Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups
  • Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment within the context of multi-disciplinary care.
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary team working and inter-agency collaboration
  • Experience of teaching, training and/or offering supervision
