Job summary

Are you a highly motivated and compassionate individual passionate about mental health and community engagement with a desire to drive positive changes?

We are seeking an enthusiastic Engagement and Outreach Officer to work in conjunction with the HPFT Talking Therapies Communications and Marketing team and the Mid Essex Talking Therapies Services, to improve access to our service and raise awareness of mental health within the local communities.

There is an expectation that the post holder will be able to accommodate a flexible working pattern (including evenings and weekends) to accommodate events and networking opportunities.

We are seeking a dedicated individual with a strong passion for ensuring our service is accessible to all, with a comprehensive knowledge of the local area; you will play a key role in reaching to the community and building strong connections.

We are looking for applicants who have enthusiasm for working in a primary care service, who are adaptable, enjoy variety, can work independently, as well as understanding the importance of team working.

Main duties of the job

Event Management: Actively seeking out events and networking opportunities relevant to the service and coordinating the service's attendance. Create and maintain comprehensive calendar of annual events and activities to facilitate strategic planning.

Representation and Networking: Represent Mid Essex Talking Therapies with a physical presence at events and networking opportunities including supporting the development of GP liaison to establish and maintain key communication in an innovative way.

Workshop Program Coordination: Organise a programme of psychoeducational workshops and support with any related administrative duties to support the delivery.

Innovative Initiatives: Identify and deliver new initiatives alongside the Mid Essex Talking Therapies clinical team, that align with our access agenda, ensuring our mental health services are accessible to all. Explore areas to improve access and/or work in partnership with underrepresented groups and/or services set out in the Mental Health Implementation plan to address service inequalities.

Promotional Activities: Respond to ad-hoc requests to promote the service including liaising with staff, identifying resources required and developing external relationships. Actively seek out events and networking opportunities for the service to attend. Develop and maintain a calendar of annual events to support with forward planning.
