An opportunity for the post of Community Mental Health Nurse has become vacant within community mental health services in St. Albans, Hertfordshire.

The post holder will be expected to hold a caseload, complete Initial Assessments, be part of the Duty Rota and support the running of the physical health clinic, the depot clinic and the Clozapine clinics, and to support the service users who attend those clinics.

Main duties of the job

You will be required to:

  • monitor and evaluate Care Plans within the CPA Framework
  • administer and/or supervise the administration of prescribed medication
  • liaise with other professionals including GPs and external agencies
  • ensure compliance with aftercare issues such as Social Care requirements, the Mental Health Act, Code Of Practice and other relevant legislation.

  • RMN or Dip/Bsc (Hons) in Mental Health Nursing
  • ENB 998/Preceptorship and Mentorship

Desirable

  • ENB 812/Bsc in Specialist Community Nursing Practice (Mental Health).
  • Psychosocial interventions

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in a range of settings relevant to the post
  • At least 2 years of post registration experience with at least one year at Band 5.
  • Experience of working in acute mental health inpatient/day care services
  • Experience of working in situations of crisis and emotionally demanding environments
  • Experience and knowledge of safeguarding process
  • Experience of teaching and training
