We are looking for a committed and forward-thinking 8a Systemic Psychotherapist to join our HPFT Specialist CAMHS service.
The HPFT CAMHS service has been at the forefront of national developments in CAMHS, including CAPA and CYP-IAPT, and Hertfordshire is both an i-Thrive accelerator and schools link pilot site. The HPFT CAMHS service includes four community based 'tier 3' teams, a crisis assessment/treatment team (C-CATT), an Eating Disorder Team, an inpatient unit (Forest House) and a Targeted Team for looked after or adopted children. We have recently operationalised our CAMHS Home Treatment and DBT teams. We offer a range of psychological therapies across these teams. We have close links with other agencies including the local 'tier 2' CAMHS service, school link workers and children's social services.
As a service, we are keen to promote CPD and research opportunities, and we offer placements to trainees within all psychological therapies and have strong links with local training courses. We value clinical supervision, both peer group and individual. We are an innovative and dynamic service, working as a multi-disciplinary team to address new challenges, and we are looking for an enthusiastic Systemic Psychotherapist to join us in going forward.
Main duties of the job
- Post holder will be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing a high standard of service to children and adolescents with a mental health problem and their families/carers; they will be responsible for the provision of family and individualpsychotherapy to this group of people
- The post-holder will work within professional guidelines and under the clinical/professional supervision of senior clinicians of own core profession
- The post-holder will provide clinical/professional supervision to trainees on placement, more junior staff of the same discipline and multi-disciplinary colleagues for the purposes of training and continual professional development
- The post-holder will contribute to research, audit and evaluation for service development
- The post-holder will work closely with Tier 3 and Tier 4 services in CAMHS, including eating disorder inpatient units & Home Treatment Team
- The post-holder will provide supervision as agreed with Consultant Lead Family and Systemic Psychotherapist

Knowledge/Training/Experience
Essential
- Post-graduate qualification in appropriate mental health/social welfare profession (e.g. nursing, psychology, psychiatry, social work) or equivalent, and demonstrable practice over a minimum of 2 years
- Masters/Doctoral level qualification in Systemic Psychotherapy or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years post-qualification experience as a systemic psychotherapist
- Minimum of six years experience of working with adolescents and/or adults and families in a relevant mental health or social welfare setting or equivalent
- Registration with UKCP
- Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision.
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of working with young people under 18 with eating disorders
Desirable
- Additional specialist training in mental health (e.g. Eating Disorders, PTSD, ADHD, Self-harm)
Communication Skills

- Experience of multi-disciplinary team working and inter-agency collaboration
- Highly developed skills to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, at an age appropriate level, complex and highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to service users, their families, carers and professionals within and outside the NHS, including reports for courts and case conferences if necessary
