An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head Occupational Thearpist to join our outstanding adult community service with one of the most acclaimed trusts in the UK. This post is to cover one year maternity leave & can be offered as a fixed term contract or as a secondment for staff already working within HPFT if they prefer.
Main duties of the job
As ACMHS Head Occupational therapist, you will oversee the continuing practice & development of the service within the East & North of the county & assist with piloting mental health services within primary care.
Hosted by our Stortford base, you will cover the East & North of Hertfordshire's adult community OT services & bring leadership & support to the Occupational Therapists in those teams as well as supporting your local seniors at base.
Other bases may be considered to host dependent on the circumstances of the applicant.

Occupational Therapy has a well established model of practice within HPFT. We offer an OT specific training program internally as well as supporting specialist external training. The post will provide the opportunity to develop your professional areas of clinical interest and expertise with supervision & support offered regularly from an OT professional Lead.
Your role will be supported by the senior OT & senior management teams within your hosting locality, with opportunities to support the work of both.

Essential
- BSc/MSc/PG Dip Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registration
- Evidence of clinical post registration training
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office and associated packages
- Practice Placement qualification/APPLE accreditation
Desirable
- Membership of RCOT, including specialist section
- First line management training
- Solution Focussed Brief Therapy training
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy training
- AMPS/ESI/SI training
Experience
Essential
- Post registration experience in relevant clinical setting/s at a B6 level
- Applied experience of providing both individual and group work interventions
- Highly Specialist knowledge and experience of using and applying the Model of Human Occupation assessment tools, or others appropriate to area
- Experience of other specialist Occupational Therapy assessment tools, e.g. AMPS, Pool Activity Levels
- Documented evidence of continuing professional development
- Experience in providing advice, support and clinical supervision to junior staff and/or students
- Applied knowledge of Recovery principles and how these relate to OT

- Experience of working with people with mental health problems and/or learning disability in a variety of health and social care settings involvement in recruiting staff
