An Exciting Opportunity is awaiting for a Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse on Aconbury
4 Gastroenterology. If you are a highly motivated,
enthusiastic Nurse with excellent communication skills. We want
you to join our team on our 23 bedded Gastroenterology ward - Aconbury 4.
You will need to have worked in an acute medical area and gained the
relevant experience at a band 5/6.
The Gastroenterology ward
cares for patients with a range of disorders such as liver disease, Crohn's
disease, colitis, hepatic encephalopathy, pancreatic
and bowel cancer. The range of treatments that these patients require are
ascitic drains, pig tail drains, nasal gastric tube feeding, ryles tubes, TPN,
infliximab intravenous medication, care of central lines, endoscopic procedures
and administration of human albumin, FFP and blood.
The ability to communicate effectively with all members of the
multidisciplinary team is essential. This post includes close working
relationships with IBD specialist nurses, drug and alcohol liaison nurse,
endoscopy team, dieticians and palliative care.
We aim to provide an individualized and supportive environment for
patients in which to deliver this specialized care for acutely unwell patients.

If you have cannulation, phlebotomy, or central lines skills it will be an advantage, but if not, then you should have enthusiasm and dexterity to develop these skills.
