Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Oncology Team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals trust as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) in Systemic Anti Cancer Treatment (SACT), based at the Kidderminster Hospital SACT unit. The SACT ACP will support the medical and nursing teams in the management of patients receiving Systemic Anticancer Treatments (SACT) and will undertake clinics, prescribing of SACT and supportive therapies, and review of patients on SACT units. They will provide support for the SACT team, working to agreed protocols and guidelines ensuring an efficient, effective and patient-focused service.

The applicant must be a fully qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner with specialist skills, knowledge and experience in SACT. The applicant will also need to have experience in undertaking independent examination of patients, independent prescribing, and providing an extended service as a sole clinical practitioner.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will practice autonomously as an advanced practitioner within the Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) service to provide patient-centred clinical care, encompassing the skills of advanced clinical assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed scope of practice throughout the department.

The post holder will demonstrate a high level of expertise within the SACT service, providing advice, education and support to staff, patients, their families and carers.

They will take responsibility for leading the on-going development of clinical practice and standards of care within the service, including the development of policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines in collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues.

The post holder will support new ways of working that emphasises a more efficient,effective and patient-focused service ensuring safe referral and discharge of patients as appropriate.

Key Duties:
