Job summary
As one of three Advanced Clinical Practitioners in the Hospital Outreach 24/7 Team, the postholder will work strategically with the Consultant Nurse Practitioner across the Deteriorating Patient and Sepsis pathways, influencing other disciplines and the wider organisation, and ensuring organisation and professional boundaries to support the implementation of Martha's Rule.
This vacancy has created the opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join the Advanced Clinical Practitioner and wider Team to support the implementation of Martha's Rule across the organisation to ensure that patients and families have a clear accessible route to escalate their concerns.

Main duties of the job
This post is a key position and as such responsibilities will include:
Provide expert clinical/technical care that contributes to the diagnosis, specialist care and treatment plans for these highly complex patients. In the absence of medical staff and within predetermined parameters, use advanced clinical-reasoning skills, to initiate treatment plans to support the on-going safety of the patient.
Ensure that patients are referred to appropriate practitioners when needs and risks are not within own scope of practice. Ensure dignity, privacy and cultural and religious beliefs are respected at all times.
Attend relevant meetings regularly to influence and make decisions regarding service delivery provision and further development of the service.
In all aspects of work, challenge and demonstrate an ability to work across all organisational boundaries.
This post will be split between Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Worcester and The Alexandra Hospital, Redditch, and travel across the county is essential. The post holder will be responsible for holding the Senior Nurse Bleep providing out of hours support when on-call.
