Worcestershire Acute NHS Trust is expanding our AHP corporate team to work alongside our new Director of AHPs in delivering our ambitious AHP workforce strategy. This new Band 7 role will work within the corporate team and assist in bringing the multiple AHPs working in the organisation together to work in a more collaborative approach.
This will be a dynamic role, responding to changing internal and external influences and priorities over time. Our ideal candidate will be highly motivated and a confident leader who can collaborate and influence multiple key AHP stakeholders. Excellent communication skills and a flexible approach are essential. An in-depth knowledge of current strategic issues in Allied Health Professions, health care contexts and higher education, nationally and locally will also be required. You will also work collaboratively with the Universities in organising and providing clinical placements for pre-registration AHP students in line with HCPC standards.
This role will provide a link to departmental AHP clinical educators and will identify and help meet training and development needs for mentors, preceptors and all AHP students. You will have experience of a training/development role within an AHP setting.

Main duties of the job
To manage clinical placement capacity for pre-registration students of AHPs across Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.
To liaise with the University of Worcester and any other HEIs in the allocation and management of clinical placements ensuring equity and parity.
To oversee and manage the live register of active mentors in line with relevant governing bodies requirements.
To ensure adequate number of practice Assessors & Supervisors in line with relevant governing bodies requirements.
To participate in HCPC and University reviews of placement provision on behalf of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals.
To ensure that a regular time commitment will be dedicated to direct clinical care and professional activities in accordance with local and national guidance from the relevant professional body and approved by an individual's clinical line manager.
To ensure effective lines of communication between the Trust and Universities placing students.
To provide the Trust with regular feedback and report on placement provision.
To provide statistical data and reports to NHSe as required.
To lead and ensure other AHP facilitators who are supervising the departmental AHPs and clinical educators, are supported with disciplinary matters and personal development of the team.
To work closely with the wider Professional Development team to support deliverance of a high standard of appropriate teaching programmes.
To act as a clinical and educational role model.
