Job summary
The Worcestershire Oncology Centre has been
operational since August 2014 with local recruitment of Consultant Oncologists, Nurses, Radiographers,
Physicists and support staff to ensure that patients can be treated locally for over 90% of their cancer treatment
and care.
Chemotherapy is delivered locally on the 3 Trust
sites, Rowan Suite at Worcester Royal Hospital, the
Garden Suite at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in
Redditch and the Millbrook Suite at Kidderminster Treatment Centre.
Radiotherapy is delivered on the Worcester Royal
Hospital site.
Main duties of the job
This substantive full time post, provides an opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in General Medicine and Oncology, and would be particularly suitable for candidates at level ST1-2 preparing to apply for specialist training in Medicine, Oncology, Haematology or palliative care. The postholder will contribute to ward based, day case and outpatient care of oncology patients. There will be ample training and supervision and the opportunity to contribute to teaching, clinical research and audit.
A commitment to the out of hours on call rota is a requirement.
Previous NHS experience is essential.

A suitably experienced post-holder will be expected to:
- provide a service to patients of the Worcestershire
