As Practice educator, you will be responsible for the planning, oversight and delivery of the departments education strategy, to include undergraduates, post graduates and all substantive colleagues with the team.

You will work with internal and external stakeholders across the region in order to develop a blended programme of training in line with local and national requirements and opportunities. This role will support an ongoing pipeline of recruitment ensuring future sustainability.

We anticipate that you will form strong working relationships with local education institutes to offer a variety of practice opportunities to staff; aiding workforce retention and identifying opportunities to support new or alternative routes into ultrasound, whilst in addition ensuring our current employees are supported with CPD mandatory training and achieving PDR compliance.

Main duties of the job

You will already be a practising WAHT sonographer with a Pg Dip or BSc (Medical Ultrasound) qualification.

You will have a broad spectrum of ultrasound skills, including scanning and independently reporting Obstetric, Gynae, abdominal, DVT and small part ultrasound examinations.

You will be able to demonstrate an extensive CPD portfolio and have a proven interest in teaching.

This post is initially for one day per week and you will be expected to travel county wide to support ultrasound staff with their training needs whilst maintaining your own scanning competencies.

You will be expected to liaise with and the established radiology PBE staff, ultrasound leads, radiology management and radiology governance team to ensure training is effective and up to date.

You will be expected to contribute to reviews of ultrasound governance material (including reviewing of documents/SOP's/protocols etc) ensuring that they are reviewed and updated in a timely manner.

In conjunction with the current Ultrasound leads you will be expected to develop this new role to ensure its effective evolution.
