Main duties of the job

To provide and maintain a professional, efficient, effective and timely service to patients, visitors and other departments that will contribute to achieving high quality service.

To Ensure the service supports the clinical care of patients and respects the privacy & dignity of every patient.

To ensure the health & safety of both recipients and those delivering the service.

To contribute towards best practice within the department.

To assist the security management team in the development of the service.

To provide a high quality security service, to patients, staff, visitors, and contractors within hospital premises and car parks in accordance with Security Industry Authority (SIA) guidelines and Trust specifications.

Undertake necessary duties to ensure the maintenance of an efficient security service. These duties will be carried out in both internal and external environments.

To assist visitors to the hospital site with general enquiries, in a pleasant and helpful manner

All work must be undertaken in line with health, safety, security, Company and Trust policies and procedures.

Where required, you may also need to assist with the emergency and evacuation procedures in accordance with the Trust policy.

  • Good basic education.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to complete documentation accurately.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Professional, personable, and adaptable to the needs of the service.
  • Able to remain calm, focused, and effective in challenging situations.

Desirable

  • Manual handling proficiency
  • Strong customer care skills
  • Possession of an SIA Door Supervisor Licence and/or CCTV Licence
  • Experience working within the NHS or a comparable environment

Experience

Essential

  • Candidates must have experience working within the NHS or a similar environment.
  • Experience in customer service
  • Experience in dealing with vulnerable patients.

Desirable

  • Demonstrates a professional and compassionate approach when supporting others. Maintains composure in challenging or stressful situations. Is open to feedback and willing to learn from it. Works effectively as part of a team while also being capable of completing tasks independently. Possesses strong verbal communication, critical thinking, and reasoning skills. Has a solid understanding of Health and Safety requirements and basic computer skills to complete online learning.
