Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Junior Clinical Fellow in Oncology. This 12 month post, available immediately, which provides an opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in Oncology and would be particularly suitable for candidates at level ST1-2, preparing to apply for specialist training in Oncology, Haematology, Palliative Care or Medicine. The post holder will contribute to ward based, day case and outpatient care of oncology patients. There will be ample training and supervision and the opportunity to contribute to teaching, clinical research and audit.
Main duties of the job
Undertake inpatient care of patients admitted to our oncology ward (Laurel 2), carrying out daily ward rounds (including weekends on a rota basis), reviewing patients in the Acute Oncology Bay and Rowan Suite. Undertaking outpatient clinics and liaising with wider Oncology Team on a daily basis.

Together with, and under the guidance of, the Consultant Oncologists, the post holder will:
- Undertake inpatient care of oncology and medical patients admitted to our oncology ward (Laurel 2), carrying out daily ward rounds and liaising with Oncology Team on a daily basis. - Participate in educational opportunities to match a Dr in training at this grade. This will include attendance at the departments education programme, the opportunity to attend oncology outpatient clinics and MDTs, and to observe radiotherapy planning and delivery.
- There will be some cross cover required on occasion on our haematology ward (Laurel 3) at Worcester Royal Hospital.
- Undertake an oncology outpatient clinic, focussed on follow up of post treatment urological malignancy.
