Job summary
The two Critical Care Units in the County are based at the Worcester Hospital and the Alexandra Hospital and are 15 and 8 bedded units.

You will possess 2 years experience at the Band 5 role in an Adult Unit, either NMC/ 100 or Diploma in Critical Care Modules relating to the nursing of critically ill patients at level 5/6/7 is essential and Teaching/Assessing/Mentorship educational evidence. You will be experienced with proven leadership skills and a proactive, flexible approach to help support and shape the service.
Main duties of the job
- To ensure the maintenance of a high standard of nursing care at all times through the effective management of staff and resources and to be available for advice and support within the specialty.
- Provide effective leadership and to act as a good role model, as well as to liaise with all members of the multi-disciplinary team and co-ordinate all aspects of care in the best interests of the patient and family.
- To supervise junior staff and to teach qualified and unqualified staff as appropriate.
- To liaise with person carrying overall responsibility for the Unit.
