INFLAMMATORY BOWEL DISEASE (IBD) CLINICAL NURSE
SPECIALIST
BAND 7
PERMANENT POST
37.5 HRS PER WEEK
We are seeking a highly committed and motivated nurse to
join our IBD nursing service in Worcestershire to work with our IBD
multidisciplinary team across our 3 main hospital sites at Worcester, Redditch
and Kidderminster. You will have experience of working with patients who have
gastroenterology disease in the acute hospital setting and ideally experience
of working with patients with IBD.
The IBD and nursing service is a changing healthcare
environment offering a variety of access routes for patients including virtual
and face to face and personalized care to our patients. It is an expanding service
to provide more remote monitoring via patient apps and follow up care of this
patient group across the county. The IBD nurses also provide a patient advice
line, biologic medication service and small bowel Video Capsule Endoscopy
service.
You will be supported by a professional
multi-disciplinary team. If you feel you have the necessary skills and wish to

Main duties of the job
You must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work well within a multi-disciplinary team and also work autonomously managing your own caseload of patients. IBD is a very complex disease that can affect many aspects of a patients life, it is an area of increasing research and so care of these patients is evolving each year and the nursing service must be able to react and adapt to this.

- Registered Nurse / Midwife with current NMC Level registration.
- Independent non-medical prescriber.
- Evidence of professional and educational development at an advanced level.
Desirable
- ENB 998 or equivalent or relevant teaching qualification.
- MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice.
Skills and Knowledge
Essential
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Developed interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Good working knowledge of word and power-point packages with willingness to develop further skills.
- Understanding of current professional nursing issues
- Good level of written English, grammar and spelling.
- Able to triage, set priorities, meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
