Senior Static Physiotherapist Trauma and Orthopaedics

Job summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced physiotherapist to join our Orthopaedic Team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is keen to specialise and develop in orthopaedics. The post would be static within the orthopaedic physiotherapy team at Worcester Royal Hospital, with the opportunity to rotate to the Alexandra Hospital in order to gain elective orthopaedic experience and to support both services when required.
You will be working as part of a dynamic integrated therapy team providing physiotherapy to orthopaedic in-patients.
There is the opportunity to be involved in the development of the services across both elective and trauma.
You will have previous experience of working within in-patient orthopaedics, demonstrate a good broad base of orthopaedic knowledge and have the ability to manage a team of staff and students. You will be able to develop management skills and work closely with other senior staff within the team.
You will benefit from regular supervision, in-service training, and access to specialist clinicians to help develop your clinical and leadership skills.
We are committed to your professional development. You will be encouraged to engage in ongoing CPD and contribute to the education and supervision of junior staff.
There is the requirement to participate in our on-call service, as well as weekend and 7-day working rotas.
Main duties of the job
Working as an autonomous practitioner, to provide high quality patient focussed care through assessment, diagnosis, development and delivery of individual treatment programmes.
To take the responsibility for own caseload within a defined area of service or for a particular patient type.
To provide supervision, support and education to qualified and unqualified staff and students.
To participate in departmental audit in support of evidence-based practice.
To communicate with the MDT as appropriate to provide comprehensive assessment to determine admission prevention as appropriate to given speciality.
To undertake outpatient activity as appropriate within area of speciality.
To contribute to our 7-day service on a rota basis. To complete on call over a 24 hrs period
To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of practice, including the management of patients receiving treatment.
To undertake clinical assessment, including risk analysis, of patients presenting with simple and complex/multi pathologies within trauma.
To use advanced clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques to establish accurate diagnosis.
To use judgemental skills and comprehensive knowledge of physiotherapy treatments to formulate individual treatment programmes based on evidence of best practice.
