Specialist Dietitian Head and Neck Cancer Band 6 (development opportunity for experienced Band 5s) Part-time | Based at Worcestershire Royal Hospital

Are you looking to develop your dietetic career within a specialist head and neck cancer service? If so, this could be the opportunity for you.

This role would suit either an experienced Band 5 Dietitian seeking to take the next step in their career, or an established Band 6 wishing to specialise in head and neck oncology.

As a key member of the Head and Neck multidisciplinary team (MDT), you will work closely with Speech and Language Therapists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and other members of the wider Oncology team to provide high-quality, patient-centred nutritional care for both inpatients and outpatients with head and neck cancer.

You will join a supportive and friendly Nutrition & Dietetic Department comprising 26 staff across our two acute hospital sites. Based primarily at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, you will work part-time alongside two other specialist Head and Neck Dietitians, providing a total of 1.6 WTE dietetic support to the service.

You will also be part of our wider Oncology Dietetic team, which includes two Oncology Dietitians and a Dietetic Assistant, offering excellent opportunities for professional support, development, and collaboration.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be an experienced and autonomous dietetic practitioner responsible for delivering a high standard of patient-centred nutritional care to individuals with oncology conditions. They will provide specialist assessment, treatment planning, and evidence-based dietary interventions as part of the multidisciplinary team. The role includes contributing to the ongoing development, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of the oncology dietetic service to ensure quality and efficiency. The post holder will also support the training and supervision of students and actively contribute to the Therapy Clinical Governance agenda to enhance service quality and professional standards.
