An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Nurse to join our Endoscopy as a Band 6 Junior Sister / Charge Nurse

The post holder will support and assist the Unit Manager in the management of the Endoscopy Unit to deliver safe and quality endoscopy care. The post holder will also support Endoscopy staff from the Evesham Endoscopy Service currently based at the Worcester site

This post would suit an experienced endoscopy nurse who has worked in the acute setting.

The successful candidate will join our friendly and dynamic team. You will be based at Worcester Royal Hospital where we are providing a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including emergency out of hours service and pre-assessment clinic.

Travel to other sites may be required which are Redditch, Kidderminster and Malvern

Main duties of the job

Main duties:

To work according to the NMC Code and relevant professional guidelines and frameworks including the Trust values providing a holistic effective and efficient Endoscopy service to the local population.

To participate in handling complaints in accordance with Trust policy.

To assist in the assessment of staffing requirements and reporting problems to the appropriate manager.

To provide high quality nursing care and participate in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the care needs for the patient group within Endoscopy.

To deliver compassionate person-centred care and treat patients, service users, their families and their careers with consideration, dignity and the respect you would want for yourself or your family.

To support endoscopy Pre-Assessment team and emergency out of hours on call service.

To participate in preceptorship programmes as appropriate and act as a facilitator, mentor and role model to student nurse and junior staff.

To be responsible for developing and sustaining your own knowledge, clinical skills and professional awareness in accordance with NMC requirements and to maintain a professional portfolio with evidence of reflective practice.
