Due to the promotion of the current post holder, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Paediatric Dietetics Team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. You will be joining the Trust at a pivotal time as we integrate acute and community services across Worcestershire to improve patient pathways and outcomes.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated dietitian with a broad interest in paediatrics, particularly paediatric allergy. The successful candidate will provide high-quality dietetic care to both paediatric inpatients and outpatients.

This role includes cross-site working to provide paediatric dietetic cover as required. Excellent communication skills, a strong interest in all aspects of dietetics, and experience of working within multidisciplinary teams are essential.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will manage a caseload of paediatric outpatients and contribute to the delivery and development of the paediatric allergy service. They will also provide cover for paediatric inpatients when required, offering specialist dietetic expertise and nutritional advice to a wide range of paediatric patients within acute settings.

Working as an autonomous practitioner, the post holder will deliver high-quality, patient-centred care through specialised assessment, treatment planning, and evidence-based interventions. They will provide day-to-day support and supervision to Band 5 colleagues, working collaboratively with the Paediatric Lead Dietitian and other Band 6 dietitians to ensure a coordinated and effective service.

In addition, the post holder will play an active role in student training, supervision, and assessment, as well as contribute to the departments clinical governance and service improvement initiatives. The role also involves assisting with the day-to-day coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of the paediatric dietetic service to ensure its continued development and delivery of high standards of care.
