Job summary
To manage all aspects of the clinical pharmacy service within the
organisation.
To lead, manage, coordinate, monitor, develop and audit clinical
pharmacy and medicines management across the Trust via teams and individuals of
directly accountable senior pharmacists, under the direction of the Chief
Pharmacist and Senior Clinicians.
To plan and develop strategic issues relating to the provision of
clinical pharmacy in the Trust and ensure services are delivered to a high
quality in a safe and cost-effective manner in accordance with relevant
legislation.
To liaise closely with the Chief Pharmacist, Deputy Chief
Pharmacist- Cancer services, Pharmacy Operational Managers, and the Pharmacy
Governance Managers in providing leadership through the Senior Pharmacy Team to
deliver optimal care to patients.
To deputise for the Chief Pharmacist
Main duties of the job
Overseeing the delivery and development of clinical pharmacy
services across the organisation, ensuring high standards of patient care and
safety.
Leading and managing clinical pharmacy teams, including
workforce planning, training, and professional development.
Supporting the Chief Pharmacist in strategic planning,
policy development, and implementation of new clinical initiatives.
Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, national
guidelines, and local protocols relating to clinical pharmacy practice.
Monitoring and evaluating clinical pharmacy services to
identify areas for improvement and drive service innovation.
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimise
medication management and contribute to wider patient care objectives.
Representing the pharmacy department in meetings,
committees, and working groups as required.
