Job summary
We are looking for a part-time enthusiastic, friendly and efficient Receptionist to join our team on the Womens Health Unit at The Alexandra Hospital, Redditch. This is a 17-hour post worked as standard across shifts on Monday -Friday but with occasional Saturdays.
We provide a high quality ambulatory gynaecology service for women across Worcestershire to include diagnostics and treatments using outpatient hysteroscopy, cystoscopy, colposcopy, minor procedures and diagnostic ultrasound scanning. This is an interesting and varied speciality, which can be emotionally demanding but is hugely rewarding for a person that is passionate about Womens Health. We have a cheerful and skilled nursing team on the unit and work closely with the medics to provide our services.
We are keen to find someone who is personable, kind and able to put people at ease when they attend the unit. You will need excellent communication skills to engage with patients, their loved ones and colleagues. You will need the ability to work as part of the team and under pressure to flexibly support the Gynaecology team. You will need previous administrative experience, preferably within a hospital, good organisational and IT skills, ability to prioritise and initiative to work unsupervised when necessary.
Main duties of the job
To provide a welcoming reception service, handling initial enquiries and taking accurate and essential registration details from patients, visitors and health care professionals such as the ambulance service
To assist patients and visitors in resolving any queries
To liaise with patients, relatives and other members of the public politely and efficiently, ensuring confidentiality and security of patient information as per Trust policy and in line with Information Governance guidance
To provide administrative and clerical support to the clinical and nursing staff within gynaecology services
To ensure the availability of accurate patient records and documentation as per Trust policies and procedures
