Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about ensuring patients receive safe, high quality care. You must be patient focused in developing services that will meet the changing needs of our patients to ensure they have a positive experience. You will be joining a team of Matrons who have a wealth of knowledge across all specialties within the Surgical Division due to the rotation of roles across the sites. This post will initially be based at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital with responsibility for the specialties of Head and Neck and Vascular.
This is an exciting opportunity whether you are an aspiring leader who is looking to experience the challenges the role of Matron brings or currently in a Matrons role with the desire to further develop your skills.
You will be expected to work closely within the triumvirate Directorate teams as well as with other members of the wider Divisional team; have excellent leadership skills and the knowledge required to help the Division deliver its Quality Improvement agenda.

Main duties of the job
Matrons are vital to delivering high quality care to patients and their relatives. They are instrumental in promoting high standards of clinical care, reducing health inequalities and promoting equality for all, workforce retention and recruitment, staff education and development, compassionate, inclusive leadership and patient safety.
The Matrons role is the cornerstone of improving the quality of patient care. They do this through visible inclusive leadership and engagement with patients and families, frontline staff and senior management teams. Matrons provide key assurance to the Board, providing evidence that the organisation is delivering safe care and supporting and developing staff to fulfil their roles.
