Job summary
The post comprises two full-time Consultants in Trauma and Orthopaedics. On-calls will be based at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital site.
The Department requires an individual with a special interest and experience in fragility fracture management, including perioperative care of elderly trauma patients, multidisciplinary coordination, and orthogeriatric collaboration.

Main duties of the job
Clinical Duties
- Contribute to the delivery of trauma services across the Trust, with a sub-specialty focus on fragility fractures (especially hip fractures and osteoporotic injuries)
- Collaborate with the ortho-geriatric team to provide integrated, multidisciplinary care pathways for frail elderly trauma patients
- Participate in service development initiatives, including local implementation of BOAST and GIRFT recommendations
Training Duties
- Provide teaching and supervision to junior doctors and multidisciplinary teams
- Contribute to undergraduate medical education and orthopaedic training programmes
- Participate in Quality Improvement and Clinical Governance activities related to fragility fracture outcome

- FRCS (Tr & Orth) or equivalent - ATLS/ETC.
- Entry on Specialist Register in Trauma & Orthopaedics or within 6 months of interview.
Desirable
- Higher degree.
- ATLS/ETC Instructor.
