Job summary
This is a post based at the Worcestershire
Royal Hospital, providing experience in a clinical specialty with opportunities
for involvement in teaching, simulation and management experience.
The post is suitable for trainees whose career would be advanced by the
opportunity to develop clinical skills along with teaching or management
skills. It is designed for clinicians with three or more years of experience
post full registration that have worked in an acute speciality or taken part in
the ACCS programme. It might be of
interest to registered practitioners who are studying for a higher
qualification, writing up research, or applying for higher specialist training
rotations, or any combination of these. It may also appeal to higher trainees
who wish to take time out of a training programme, subject to the approval of
the appropriate Specialist Training Committee.
The successful applicant
will form part of the ED Middle Grade rota, this an eighteen week rolling rota
as detailed below. There is teaching for Middle Grades on Wednesdays during
term time to mirror the teaching sessions ST4 and above EM trainees
attend. All doctors have named
Educational and Clinical Supervisors.
Main duties of the job
Participating
fully in all the educational activities of the department
Assisting
the Consultants in the day-to-day clinical care of the ED patients
Managing the
resuscitation room cases including leading the trauma and cardiac arrest
teams
Co-ordinating,
supervising and supporting the junior medical staff
Participating in
the Clinical Audit programme and the quality control of the department
Support the
Trust in the delivery of a high standard of care and meeting Trust and departmental
objectives by timely service and quality led clinical care.
Comply with
relevant trust policies including those relating to data protection
Actively pursue
professional development maintaining a portfolio of evidence so that you are
able to participate satisfactorily the appraisal process in accordance with GMC
requirements.
