PART TIME FIXED TERM POSITION FOR QUALIFIED NURSING STAFF ON RIVERBANK, WORCESTER ROYAL HOSPITAL - CQC rated as GOOD'.
Are you an experienced childrens nurse looking for an 11 month fixed term, part time 30 hour contract, and the opportunity to work as part of our friendly, dynamic and innovative multi professional team where your special skills will be recognised?
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Junior Sister to join us on our 35 bedded ward caring for babies, children and young people with a variety of medical and surgical needs.
We are seeking confident, competent, enthusiastic and motivated applicants who wish to deliver the highest standard of holistic care to these children and young people and their families. You must have excellent communication and team working skills, and be innovative in your approach. You should have a wide range of clinical expertise in paediatric nursing as well as experience working within the multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job
Using your leadership and clinical experience, knowledge and skills you will work with your team as the Nurse in Charge to ensure the maintenance of a high standard of nursing care at all times through the effective management of staff and resources.
You will be available for advice and support within the specialty and act as a good role model, as well as liaising with all members of the multi-disciplinary team and co-ordinating all aspects of care in the best interests of the patient and family.
You will act as a mentor, supervising the training of qualified and unqualified staff in accordance to their level of competence, and assist junior staff to develop clinical and managerial skills.
You will liaise closely with the Ward Manager and Matron recognising and reporting accidents/incidents, development and changes, both nursing and medical, which affect patient care directly and indirectly.
You will take appropriate action to ensure the safety of patients, including the delegation of patient care to nurses with the appropriate level of skill at all times.
You will act with compassion and put patients at the centre of all you do.
You will show commitment to sustaining and developing your clinical competence and professional awareness.
This role will require you to work variable hours in order to fulfil the needs of the ward.
