We are recruiting for a dynamic experienced Endoscopy nurse to join our practice development team working countywide.
We have a permanent full time post
This role is part of the exciting expansion of Endoscopy Services across the county as part of Worcestershire Acute Hospital NHS Trust putting patients first.
We are increasing capacity and looking for an enthusiastic experienced Endoscopy Nurse to work with our established Practice Development Team who help train our Endoscopy staff.
Main duties of the job
- To
organise Endoscopy Unit based educational programs related to identify training
needs.
- To
liaise with the relevant persons to identify resources and opportunities
for education and training eg. Other practice educators and Centre of
clinical practice re allocation of contracts for courses and corporate
nursing team.
- To
facilitate learning through the creation of an educationally stimulating
environment.
- To
be aware of the educational needs of post-registration nurses ensuring
that preceptors are available.
- To
develop and evaluate orientation programmes for all grades of staff.
- To
act as a role model of expert clinical practice as both an informal and
formal teacher/facilitator.

Job responsibilities
To
lead the continuing development of excellent, evidence based learning with the
Endoscopy Unit.
To
work clinically one/two days per week with all staff groups in a supportive or
facilitating role in response to identified learning needs.
To
work with the Endoscopy nursing staff on audit to ensure the development of a
multi-professional programme of clinical audit.
Ensure
good communication/collaboration with the Unit with all members of the
multi-disciplinary team, patients and relatives. This includes documenting relevant and
accurate information within the Patient Record.
Ensure the team is aware of new policies and procedures and how to
access the latest versions. Disseminate
any changes in policies and procedure in a timely manner.
Facilitate
the implementation of key standards in the Endoscopy Unit and compliance with
JAG accreditation.
Ensure
professional standards are maintained in accordance with the NMC code of
professional conduct.
Work
with the Matron in the development of relevant clinical guidance, policies and
protocols.
Keep
relevant records and submit reports in a professionally acceptable manner.
Promote
a positive relationship with all stakeholders.
Identify and act
appropriately regarding incidents of poor practice.
