Job summary
A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Band 7 Specialist Physiotherapist in MSK Rehabilitation to join Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.
This is a permanent, part time post working 20.75 hours per week.
We provide outpatient physiotherapy services across three acute sites in Worcester, Kidderminster and Redditch. Although this post will be based in Worcester, there is an expectation that the post holder would be able and willing to work across sites as required.
The acute MSK service predominantly receives consultant referrals for patients post-op or post trauma. Within this specialist clinical role, the post-holder will be expected provide high quality, evidence based assessment and rehabilitation to a varied and complex caseload of patients.
The post holder will also be expected to take a leading role within the acute MSK service, ensuring the rehabilitation provided is high quality, effective and evidence based. This will be achieved by the post holder taking the lead on providing training/clinical supervision and alongside the service lead undertake audits, service development projects and ensure patient pathways/protocols are in line with current evidence. There will also be the requirement to assist the Service lead in delivering on agreed performance targets.
Experience in complex musculoskeletal rehabilitation within the NHS at a senior level is essential and an interest in/experience in strength and conditioning is preferred.
Main duties of the job
Working
as an experienced, autonomous practitioner, to provide a high standard of
patient focused care through advanced assessment, accurate diagnosis,
development and delivery of individual treatment programmes for patients within
given speciality. To take responsibility of own caseload in area of speciality.
To
assist in the planning, co-ordination, delivery and evaluation of the
physiotherapy service provided within outpatients at Worcestershire Acute
Hospitals NHS Trust.
To
provide supervision, support and education for qualified and unqualified
physiotherapy staff, and to other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
To participate in departmental audit and
research in support of evidence based practice.
To advise physiotherapists on the physiotherapy treatment and management
of patients within outpatients.
To communicate with the MDT as appropriate
to provide comprehensive assessment to determine admission prevention as
appropriate to given speciality.
To
work alongside the other clinical leads within the speciality to ensure outpatient
services are delivered and evaluated effectively.
