Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time (18.75 hours per week) Matron for Children & Young People Acute Services to work alongside the current Matron in a job share capacity. The secondment will initially be for a period of 12 months pending a review of the flexible working arrangement. Applications are welcome from internal candidates only.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide direct management and professional leadership for all Band 7s within their sphere of responsibility. They will have direct access to and be accountable to the Divisional Director of Nursing for professional practice and care standards.

The leadership provided by the post holder is crucial to efficient, effective, and caring services. They will influence the non-clinical contributions that are necessary to deliver a high-quality care service including the standards of food, cleanliness of the environment and other services that impact on patient care and welfare.
