Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly team to work as a Senior Biomedical Scientist in the Haematology Department in the position of Quality Manager.
The post holder will be expected to maintain competence in all sections of the laboratory including Blood Transfusion.
The post holder will be responsible for the implementation and management of the Quality Management System. They will also be required to join the Senior BMS Team in developing the Haematology & Blood Transfusion Department, ensuring continual improvement of the Haematology service and meeting all accreditation standards.
The post is 37.5hrs per week which will include shifts on weekends and Bank Holidays. There may also be an occasional requirement to cover night shifts as part of the departmental contingency plan.
Main duties of the job
To provide professional leadership and direction for Biomedical Scientists and MLA staff in all matters relating to the Quality Management System and UKAS Accreditation.
To manage the day-to-day aspects of maintaining the Quality Management System to ensure compliance with ISO 15189 in conjunction with all Section Lead BMSs.
To ensure that the Quality Management System meets user expectation.
To represent Haematology & Coagulation as Quality Lead during external audits and as a member of the Pathology Quality & Accreditation Committee.
