Provide Pathology expertise and be responsible for the operational management of Pathology services. This will include Biochemistry, Cellular Pathology, Microbiology, Haematology, Blood bank and Point of Care testing. In addition to leadership and management, the post holder will be expected to retain a practicing knowledge of at least one modality.
The Pathology Clinical Services Manager will be responsible for the clinical and operational management of Pathology Clinical services within the Trust. The post holder will organise, direct and evaluate all aspects of the Pathology service, ensuring the delivery of effective services to patients in line with the Trust and Directorate strategy and vision.

Main duties of the job
To work with the Clinical Director and Directorate Manager to develop and support implementation of the Directorate strategy, contribute to business planning for the development of Pathology services, evaluating opportunities and impact on service delivery and assessing impact of local and internal service plans on Pathology.
To lead on the implementation of new ways of service delivery, adopting new roles and working practices which will improve patient experience, staff satisfaction and departmental performance.
To be responsible for effective modality structures, with robust management, delivering a safe, resilient cost effective county wide service among all Pathology departments.
To promote a culture of excellence and efficiency, adopting Trust behaviors to support performance delivery. To take responsibility for the appropriate clinical and professional aspects of Pathology services.
To be responsible for ensuring Governance and Quality assurance programmes are robust and compliant with all statutory regulations. Ensuring there are regular reviews of policies and risks.
To lead and support the Directorate in achieving ISAS accreditation.
To be responsible for the provision and analysis of performance data in support of clinical activity and service delivery, KPI`s, Divisional and Directorate meetings, CCG`s, NHSI, NHSE, CQC, Model hospital returns and participation in National Benchmarking.
