Job summary

We are looking for NMC Qualified Nurses to join Avon 3; a 20 bedded dual specialty medical unit at Worcester Royal Hospital.Our specialties are Infectious Diseases and Endocrinology

On Avon 3 we require a high level of skill in venepuncture and cannulation, IV administration and a good level of knowledge in antibiotic usage and stewardship as well as PICC, midline and central line care. It would be advantageous for the candidate to already have these skills but if not then all training can be provided.

We aim to provide an individualised and supportive environment for patients in which to deliver this specialised care for acutely unwell patients.

The successful candidate will learn to co-ordinate and prioritise care in a busy environment, work within a multi professional team of Consultants, Doctors, Pharmacists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Specialist Nurses. The ability to communicate effective with all members of the multidisciplinary team is essential.

Main duties of the job

On Avon 3 we desire a high level of skill in venepuncture and cannulation, IV administration and a good level of knowledge in antibiotic usage and stewardship as well as PICC, midline and central line care (which all can be trained in if required).You will also need to have a good endocrine knowledge with a good understanding of the safe use of insulin.

You will be a highly motivated forward-thinking professional who can demonstrate the ability to lead and support staff in a proactive and effective way.
