An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team in the Neonatal Service as the Ward Manager. You will be part of the senior nursing team in the Women and Childrens Division and will be responsible for leading, developing and maintaining standards within the Neonatal service. We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic leader dedicated to the provision of excellent patient care with the development of staff and the improvement of service and performance, supporting the Divisional Quality Improvement plan.
You will be required to support and manage the delivery of high-quality inpatient neonatal care on our 18 bedded Level 2 Neonatal Unit, 9 bedded Transitional care Unit and Neonatal Community Outreach.
You will be responsible for promoting and developing clinical leadership by acting as a positive role model who practices evidence-based care. You will be joining a supportive senior nursing team who encourage personal development through continuous professional development
The post holder will provide visible and high quality professional leadership across Neonatal services in nursing.
This is a full time role, and flexible working opportunities can be considered.

Main duties of the job
To ensure a high standard of nursing care at all times through the effective management of staff and resources on his/her allocated department.
To demonstrate strong clinical leadership in stressful and challenging situations.
To promote a positive approach to new challenges and creative ways of working.
To act as advocate for their designated area and liaise with all members of the multi-disciplinary team to co-ordinate all aspects of patient care in the best interests of the patient and family.
To ensure effective training and educational programmes are available by liasing with appropriate personnel to meet the training and educational needs of nurses in the clinical area. This post carries continuing responsibility for the management of the Ward, including the deployment and supervision of staff.
Accept personal responsibility and accountability for your infection prevention and control practice.Ensure that you are familiar with, and comply with, all relevant policies.Ensure that you receive mandatory updates in infection control.
