Job summary

Ward 6 is a Cardiology ward. We are looking to recruit 2 Full Time/Part time Health Care Assistants who are currently working in the UK in a healthcare setting. We are looking for compassionate, dedicated, caring health care workers who strive to deliver high quality care to patients. Our patients need care 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, so you will need to have flexibility in regards to shift patterns including weekend and night shifts. In return, you will benefit from unsocial hours payments and the opportunity to experience working within a friendly supportive team.

Main duties of the job

  • As a Health Care Assistant, you will work under direct or indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse/Nursing Associate. You will be primarily assisting the nursing team with care of the patients and will facilitate the smooth running of the ward.
  • As a member of the ward team you will be expected to support clinically and act in the best interest of patients.
  • This is a clinical front facing role where excellent customer care skills are expected to be delivered to patients, relatives, carers, and colleagues.
  • You will need to be driven and prepared to deliver high quality care and attention to detail.
  • You will help to ensure that patients are kept comfortable and receive personalised care.
  • You will be involved in patient booking in / admission, introducing patients to ward / department area as directed by registered nurse.
  • You will assist with the recording and safe keeping of patients property and valuables.
  • You will assist the multi professional team to prepare and support patients undergoing treatment and / or investigation maintaining privacy and dignity at all times.
  • You will safeguard vulnerable adults.
  • You will report to the nurse in charge of the ward / department matters of concern relating to patients and the ward / department environment.
  • You will ensure comprehensive documentation and recording of patients clinical input.
  • You will be adaptable and flexible to working in various areas of the department or ward as required.
