Pulmonary Rehabilitation Exercise Technician

Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Band 4 exercise technician to cover a 12 month maternity leave post.
The Pulmonary Rehabilitation team provide a comprehensive exercise and education programme across Worcestershire. The successful candidate would be working predominantly within the Evesham and Malvern programme, although some cross county cover may be needed at times.
A full induction programme would be given to any successful candidate.
Main duties of the job
- To assess, plan, treat and review the exercise needs of patients referred for Pulmonary Rehabilitation with an underlying chronic respiratory disease, providing high quality, evidence-based exercise interventions
- To assess service users suitability for exercise, adhering to guidelines
- To carry out maximal functional exercise testing with patients with chronic respiratory disease pre and post PR; monitoring and assessing oxygen levels, BP, heart rate, Pre and post PR.
- To facilitate patients to set personal SMART goals and screen for anxiety and depression (referring on where necessary) and quality of life measures using questionnaires.
- To contribute in the educational support of patients, carers and MDT teams on all aspects of Pulmonary Rehab.
- To assist specialist practitioners in the planning, co-ordination and delivery of care to patients receiving Pulmonary Rehabilitation
- To manage a daily caseload of patients working independently without direct supervision
- To ensure maintenance of pulmonary rehabilitation databases to enable on-going service review
