Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced individual to join the radiology team at Worcester Acute Hospital Trust. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated individual to lead the small but dynamic NM and Dexa services.
The NM team provide a variety of scans and are both enthusiastic and motivated to modernise and develop the NM service. You must have a flexible approach to working and be able to demonstrate good managerial and organisational skills whilst also demonstrating excellent communication skills.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of this high quality service, working closely with radiologists and MDT's. The successful candidate will be required to support in both a clinical and non-clinical capacity. Depending on experience and skills it may be that the appointed candidate will support other services in radiology however this will be discussed at interview. As a senior staff member the successful applicant will be expected to support the wider leadership team.
We welcome applications from technicians and radiographers. Applicants must hold the BSc in Radiography or an equivalent recognised qualification and must be HCPC or equivalent registered. A PgC is essentail. It is expected that you will have a strong CPD portfolio and be able to provide evidence of clinical leadership. You must have experience of teaching and training staff.
Main duties of the job
As a band 7 Radiographer at (WAHT) there is an expectation that you will use your experience and knowledge to support both the staff and service users where appropriate. This includes any modality leads, site leads and senior managers.
Maintain clinical skills and service provision within designated specialities
Support the department in delivering continuous high quality clinical care
Demonstrate a high level of expertise within relevant modalities, providing training, advice, education and support to staff
Be responsible for ensuring the effective management and leadership of required services which will include organising workload, staffing and appropriate stock control to provide a responsive service
Ensure operational standards are met to maintain effective and progressive service delivery
Demonstrate effective communication with all staff
Support and where appropriate, lead in the on-going development of clinical practice and standards of care within a specific service, including development of policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines in collaboration with MDT'S
Undertake clinical audit services as required
Where appropriate, support in the delivery of complex imaging techniques using advanced technologies, recording or reporting on the outcomes
Act as a specialist resource providing specialist advice in relation to care of patients within your appropriate speciality
