Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced ophthalmic nurse/ specialist practitioner to join our friendly, hard-working team. As an experienced ophthalmic nurse/specialist practitioner, you will be responsible for the delivery of intravitreal injections, as well as monitoring and review of patients with long term conditions who attend our 'virtual' clinics. Each of our Nurse/Specialist Practitioners provide intravitreal injections and also work in one of the following sub-specialties: Age-related Macular Degeneration/Medical Retina; Cornea or Glaucoma. Training will be provided if/as necessary.
The Nurse / SpecialistPractitioner role is an exciting one in Ophthalmology, which has proved to be exceptionally beneficial to patients and is being continually developed.
This is a county wide post, with the successful candidate being expected to work at any of our Trust sites.

Main duties of the job
This role will include administering intravitreal injections; virtual review of patients following intravitreal injections; monitoring/review of patients within the Ophthalmic sub-specialties of Glaucoma, Medical Retina, Cornea. There may be future developments into the sub-specialties of Cataract and Acute/eye emergencies.
